Job Description
- Editing and optimizing content to improve a client's content ranking in search engines
- Have a keen eye for detail and possess excellent SEO and content trends knowledge
- Publishing new content and improving existing content
- Creating keyword-targeted copy to optimize content for specific key phrases
- Using digital tools to identify search trends and key phrases
- Publishing and enhancing landing pages in WordPress
- Creating custom graphics and enhancing images for landing pages and blogs
- Posting and optimizing blogs for targeted phrases.
- Work with an established service client managing their local listings and demonstrating an advanced understanding of Local SEO.
- Create local strategies with the client using their Google My Business API to maintain accurate location data
- Identifying critical client/account issues and escalating them to appropriate executives in a timely manner
- Using SEO principles to maximize copy’s reach (internal linking, metadata optimization)
- Interpreting copywriting briefs to understand project requirements
- Collaborating with Account Managers and Project Managers on client campaigns
- Maintaining editorial calendars
- Editing content to improve optimization
- Ensuring that SEO and SMO strategies are effectively implemented
- Marking up sites and content with JSON schema
- Expected to retain existing business, while pursuing profitable growth opportunities for assigned client account, both in SEO investments and cross-channel upsells
- Optimizing permalink structures to improve URL clarity and SEO performance.
- Implementing and managing 301 redirects to preserve rankings and link equity.
- Auditing and resolving 404 errors to improve user experience and maintain search engine trust.
- Configuring robots.txt and XML sitemaps to enhance crawlability and indexing.
Requirements
- 1-2+ years experience doing SEO work for clients within an agency environment
- 2+ years of experience in local SEO or local SEO listings management for enterprise brand(s)
- Expert knowledge of SEO and Analytics
- Expert knowledge of WordPress & complex themes
- Desire to lead local strategy for large-growth SEO client
- Strong knowledge of Local SEO best practices, Google My Business, GBP API and experience managing and optimizing local listings
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JSON
- Knowledge of Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Google Search Console.
- Experience in the legal vertical
- SEO Certifications (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Analytics, Gotch Academy)
- Experience working directly on websites (general knowledge of CMS such as WordPress, Shopify, or Magento is a plus)
- Advanced technical SEO experience is a plus
