Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Junior Software Developer to join our IT team. In this role, you will primarily focus on developing websites and web applications while also handling various tech-related requests. You will work in the IT team to ensure that web development projects are completed efficiently and meet high-quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in the IT team to handle tech-related requests with a primary focus on website and web application development.
  • Develop websites and web applications using React, Node.js, Next.js, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new features and resolve issues.
  • Perform quality assurance (QA) tasks to ensure functionality, reliability, and performance of web applications.
  • Help maintain version control through GitHub and support continuous integration processes.
  • Troubleshoot and debug technical issues.
  • Participate in code reviews and project documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Node.js, and Next.js.
  • Experience working with GitHub for version control.
  • Familiarity with full-stack development processes.
  • Experience with building React projects and creating websites.
  • Basic knowledge of QA practices and techniques.
  • Experience in building web applications using React and related technologies.
  • Experience in website creation and performing QA for web applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with AWS services such as S3, Elastic Beanstalk (EB), EC2, and Route 53.
  • Experience with Tailwind CSS.
  • Familiarity with Vercel for deployment.
  • Knowledge of TypeScript.

This is a hybrid, contract-to-hire position. Epipelagic Ventures's office is located in Cambridge, MA. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship is not being offered at this time. Extensive travel is not currently expected.
